Watts Opening 8th & 9th September
As part of the national Heritage Open Days event celebrating England's heritage and culture Watts Almshouses will open to the public on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 10am-4pm. Visitors can tour the grounds with a guide and view an almshouse; one of the original almshouses will be open where possible. You can also visit the exhibition in the Board Room and discuss the services provided by Watts Charities. Refreshments and home-made cakes will be on sale.

Freehold Cottage sold by way of Public Auction on 12 December
On the instructions of the Trustees, Orchard Cottage, Fant Farm, off Upper Fant Road, Maidstone was offered for sale by Clive Emson, Land and Property Auctioneers on Monday 12 December 2016. Lot 12, Orchard Cottage is a detached Victorian Cottage. Unfortunately the cottage is situated too far from the rest of the Charities’ property portfolio and has been proving difficult to manage, thus the decision to sell.
The Six Poor Travellers' House open during the Dickens Festival in Rochester
The Dickensian Christmas celebrations will take place on 3rd and 4th December 2016, 10:00am – 5:00pm. Among the feast of Victorian delights of familiar fictional characters, parades, carols, stalls, reindeer and lots of festive shopping, the Six Poor Travellers’ House will be open to the public. The house is usually only open from Easter to 31st October every year. It is a Grade One listed building of historic and architectural importance and has been added to over the centuries and has many steps and differing levels. People with limited mobility are asked to bear this in mind if planning to visit.


Trustees' Annual Christmas Lunch - 8 December
Medway Yacht Club was the destination this year for the annual event that brought residents and staff together with Trustees. Just under ninety people enjoyed the festivities.
